Rescue Beauty Lounge mini haul

So 2 weeks ago Rescue Beauty Lounge had a 50% sale!! Can't tell you how excited i was. I planned what polishes i was gonna get and even set my alarm for 10 min before the sale so i wouldnt miss the sale. Well after much wrangling I decided on three colors. They are No More War- an olive green cream; Teal-a dark blue/green cream; and Scrangie- a BEAUTIFUL duochrome, with a purple jelly base and green and blue shimmer. I love the Scrangie, everytime i wear it i stare at my nails it is gorg. Even though it looks like a shimmer it appears and comes off like a glitter, really small micro-glitter. Even with that said the glitter-like tough removal is worth the color. The teal is darker than i thought but it complemented my skin well. As black woman it is difficult to find blues and greens that work well with my skin tone. It didnt wash me out or appear ashy. The only color im on the fence about is No More War. The color is so unique and beautiful but it just didnt make me happy looking at it.

Even though the formula was really good, as far as application and wear, the drying time was quite long. I expected it to be about the same as O.P.I. or better but it failed. If it wasnt dry enough, applying top coat would cause the polish to drag. UGH!!! Maybe i read too much into the blogs and people LOVING RBL and discussing how great it was. I Dont know i expected more especially when considering how expensive it normally runs. It was not the HOLY GRAIL of nail polish. It was just average in my opinion. Not Great and Not Terrible. Im a little sad about that:~(

Lippmann Collection 'Celebrate' Nail Lacquer Set

On Monday I got the Lippmann Collection 'Celebrate' Nail Lacquer Set. this is the set that includes the now infamous, Ruby Red Slippers, a gorgeous black jelly nail polish with large hexagonal and small glitter. It also includes Funky Chunky, a black jelly base with hexagonal glitter that is supposed to mimic sequins, and SuperStar which is a brown jelly base with copper glitter. Despite the overwhelming negative response to Funky Chunky I opted to buy the collection. I absolutely love all 3 polishes. I wont discuss RRS or Superstar since most people seem to love these two, i will focus a little bit more on the Funky Chunky.

after trying FC i was completely discouraged, it was thick, messy, and the sequins is hardly visible. This color might not be the best while in a hurry. It seemed to look a whole lot better once fully dried. I haven't got around to taking a picture of the finished product but alllacqueredup.com has a photo of the finished product. It looks pretty cool!! i actually really like the way it looks. As soon as i can i will upload a picture of my nails;-)

Happy Polishing

Orly Nail Rescue

So I had the unfortunate incident of breaking a nail however i could not save it. So i went on the internet to find a solution. That is when i came across the God sent Orly Nail Rescue. Its basically a 3-step process that includes brushing on a nail glue then dipping the nail in a powder that bonds the nail together. Now i know u have seen tons of products claiming to fix broken or cracked nails and finding that the claim was false. HOWEVER my nail broke 3 weeks ago and the bonder is still on and the nail has not been damaged any further. AMAZING!!! I got it from Sally's beauty supply for i think $7. It was totally worth it.

So happy polishing

Completely Polished

Hello All

Ok this is my first blog and i am really excited!! This Blog is my attempt to add to the world of nail polish blogs. I am a NAIL POLISH FIEND! I do not use the term lightly, i buy and polish almost compulsively, its almost absurd. So I decided to write about it. I own probably 100 bottles of nail polish and continue to add to my collection. Soon as i figure out how to post swatches, i will do so. Welcome to my blog and i hope you enjoy it.
